American Imaging Management Programs Selected
for Presentation at 2009 Fall Distinctively Blue Conference

Cardiac Services and Specialty Pharmaceutical Programs to be highlighted

Chicago, IL – August 20, 2009 – American Imaging Management® (AIM®), an operating subsidiary of WellPoint, Inc. (NYSE: WLP), and leading imaging benefit management and technology company with health plan clients representing more than 35 million consumers, announced that case studies featuring the company’s programs to manage Cardiac Services and Specialty Pharmaceuticals have been selected for presentation at the 2009 Fall Distinctively Blue Conference. The presentations will highlight the experience of Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plans that have adopted these programs.

"As one of the leading clinical management vendors to Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield plans, we are delighted to have the opportunity to introduce the results of these innovative programs to a Blue audience," said Brandon Cady, President of AIM.

Cardiac Services and Specialty Pharmaceuticals are the latest benefits to be successfully managed using the clinical management platform that AIM has used for outpatient diagnostic imaging services. Launched in 2008, both programs have been adopted in multiple markets and are currently used for services on behalf of approximately 10 million health plan members.

"The challenge that we face to manage healthcare costs and help improve care has never been greater," said Brandon Cady, President of AIM. "With a proven clinical and technology platform, AIM looks forward to continuing to work with health plans to engage providers to develop solutions to meet this challenge."
